LAND ART GENERATOR INITIATIVE. 2016. LAGI Glasgow. Exhibition. 9 June - 29 July 2016, The Lighthouse (Glasgow).
LAGI Glasgow is demonstrating the potential for artists, designers and architects to contribute to renewable energy infrastructure and integrate it into a place-making approach. The project will undertake research and development integrating art and interdisciplinary creative processes into the conception of site-specific, solution-based public art interventions which also function as innovative renewable energy power plants.
Additional descriptionThe Land Art Generator Glasgow project resulted from an invitation by Chris Fremantle / ecoartscotland to the Directors of the Land Art Generator Initiative to consider Scotland as a potential location for a project. The Glasgow Canals Partnership, through initial support from Glasgow City Council's Green Year, has supported the Competition involving Glasgow based and overseas practices working in partnership. The resulting three proposals were exhibited in The Lighthouse (9 June-29 July), Scotland's Centre for Architecture and Design as part of the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design. The exhibition was supported by workshops and events in partnership with Creative Carbon Scotland and Community Energy Scotland.
