This chapter discusses solution-focused interactions, a specific approach to communication which is based on 'solution-building' (as opposed to 'problem-solving'), which you can utilize across all fields of nuring and implement within your clinical practice. It will explore the theory and skills of solution-focused interactions and provide an understanding of how they can be used. The chapter will draw on examples from various fields of nursing, including from a public health context, to demonstrate the strength of this approach across a range of settings. In addiition it builds on the core skills from the previous chapter.
